Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
